Abstract

This research was carried out to present the existence of the digital divide and online education, one of the most recent topics at present, the importance of this work was to learn about its impact on today's society and thus obtain clear and concrete knowledge about the existing digital education in our country, It also constitutes a descriptive analysis of the main benefits and disadvantages generated by information and communication technologies, as well as everything related to the digital divide, i.e. the gap that exists between those who have greater access to technologies and those who do not, as well as the different causes and consequences of it. The objective of this research is to diagnose the current situation of the country, in terms of technologies, information and digital culture, to determine the needs it has, composed of different social and cultural strata, through a study based on research analysis applied to online education, which lead to a deep reflection on the transition to digital knowledge, and the shortcomings and obstacles encountered when making use of it. As main conclusions, it highlights the importance of promoting access to Information and Communication Technologies, not only through the provision of equipment and connectivity but also through technological training, convinced that technological learning is essential for the development of the country.
