Abstract

Landslides are movements of soil or rock masses caused mainly by the instability of a slope. Ecuador is a country that, due to its geomorphological characteristics and the effects of human activities, is prone to significant landslides in several provinces during the rainy season. In the Noboa parish in 2021, landslides occurred in the rainy season from January to May, blocking the main roads, which left the general population incommunicado. The research is of a descriptive type, it was carried out in the Noboa parish of the 24 de Mayo canton, which obtained as its main objective to determine the estimate of landslide risk in the parish, through the bibliographic - theoretical and observation method, the different calculations of the vulnerabilities were environmental and ecological, physical, economic, social, educational, cultural and political according to the basic manual for risk estimation, which obtained a general vulnerability of 58.57% considered as high vulnerability, the calculation of the danger was carried out with the information collected and the recognition of the study area, determining a value of 63% classified as high danger, finally the calculation of the risk through the descriptive criterion with the use of the danger and vulnerability matrix according to the manual, which determined a high risk of 66%, so it would be important to develop training, a control and monitoring ordinance

per present in the different areas of Noboa.
