The Effectiveness of Graduate Tracking Programs for Technical Education at the U.E.F. Manuel Inocencio Parrales y Guale in Jipijapa: Impact on Labor Market Access and Professional Insertion for Young Technicians

ABSTRACT

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the graduate tracking program implemented by the Unidad Educativa Fiscal "Manuel Inocencio Parrales y Guale" (UEFMPG) in the Jipijapa canton. The main objective was to determine how the execution of this program directly impacts the labor market access and professional insertion of young technical graduates. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design, applying a structured questionnaire to a sample of 150 technical graduates from the UEFMPG, spanning the 2020-2023 academic cohorts. The results revealed a significant formal employment rate of 70.4%, with an average job search time of less than 6 months. Using Spearman's correlation analysis, a strong and statistically significant relationship was demonstrated (n = -0.65; p < 0.01) between the periodicity of institutional tracking actions and the reduction in the period of labor inactivity. It is concluded that the UEFMPG's program is highly effective, as it not only facilitates the rapid placement of technicians in the local productive sector but also generates vital feedback that ensures the quality and relevance of the technical curriculum offered, thereby strengthening the link between secondary vocational training and the labor market in Jipijapa.
