Student mental health represents a critical challenge for higher education institutions, particularly in highly demanding majors such as Civil Engineering. This study presents a methodological proposal to implement a training workshop system for professors at the Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí, focused on suicide prevention. The methodology, based on a mixed descriptive-exploratory approach, contemplates the development of five thematic modules grounded in previous research and specific needs of the university context. The proposal integrates components of awareness-raising, identification of warning signs, effective communication, initial intervention protocols, and teacher self-care strategies. Expected results include strengthening teaching competencies for early detection and appropriate management of risk situations, as well as creating a safer and more empathetic educational environment. This initiative seeks to establish a replicable model that contributes to the effective prevention of suicidal behaviors in the university setting.
