When learning a foreign language, it is necessary to take into account that there are several factors that influence its acquisition, including the methodology used by the teacher in the classroom. It is necessary to consider what is the role played by foreign language teachers in the language teaching process, characteristics are their limits, objectives and how to achieve them. Didactic music is the methodology that is carried out when a person needs to develop the senses such as auditory, intellectual, sensory, speech and mainly the motor sense of the child. This research was exploratory, with a quantitative approach. The population was the first-year students of the Unified General Baccalaureate (BGU) of the Fiscal Educational Unit ""Galo Plaza Lasso"" of Jipijapa - Manabí, to whom a survey was applied. The results suggest that the use of songs helps students to obtain and acquire new vocabulary, as well as grammatical expressions.
