Analysis of the psychological impact of mandatory isolation due to COVID-19 on nursing career students at the south Instituto Tecnológico Sudamericano

Depression is a psychological disorder, characterized by the presence of associated symptoms such as sadness, crying, changes in sleep pattern and appetite, among others. In the context of the COVID 19 pandemic and mandatory preventive isolation, the presence of this disorder could be evidenced, affecting all age groups, in the present study we focused on the student population of our establishment where it was proposed to determine the psychological impact caused by the pandemic, through the application of the Beck Depression Inventory. It was possible to determine that during the pandemic, 35% of the students have ups and downs in their mental health which are considered normal, 18% had a mild mood disturbance, 14% had moderate depression, and another 14% did not show depression no signs of depression, the lowest percentages obtained were 8% intermittent states of depression, 7% severe depression, and 4% extreme depression.
