The research that is presented constitutes one of the partial results of a more advanced one on the management of environmental knowledge in the Granma province in Cuba, related to the confrontation with climate change. The object of research is the climate change management process, delimiting as a field: the dynamics of the knowledge management process and it is noted as an epistemological gap that supports the research:the observance of knowledge management not to achieve permanence in the market, competitiveness or profits but to manage enviromental sustainability. It contains a factual diagnosis that reveals the need to raise the levels of perception of enviromental risk and, consequently, the relevance of implementing strategic management instruments that, from knowledge management, allow transforming the modes of understanding and action in relation to enviromental issues, which that reaches urgency in relation to climate change. Theoretical and empirical methods were used as well as techniques and procedures of scientific research and the doctrinal theoretical analysis of the categories involved in this management process is provided from the most representative theoretical references as well as the characterization of the knowledge management process enviroment in Granma in relation to confronting climate change based on the evaluation of measurable indicators of the process in question.
