HEALTH RISKS DUE TO THE LACK OF DRINKING WATER SUPPLY IN THE PARISH HEADS OF CANTON PAJAN

Abstract

Drinking wÍ¡ter supply leads to improve quality of live a , health and is an important step in the development of the regions or countries and the populations that inhabit them. Access to safe drinking water is essential and indispensable, so territorial inequities must be overcome. This study addresses aspects of health and well-being in the population of the rural headwaters of the Canton of  PajÍ¡n in relation to the supply of drinking wÍ¡ter. The information was obtained through research methods related to the management and use of water, perception of water quality and its relationship to diseases produced by wÍ¡ter. The results are part of the qualitative and exploratory analysis of the characterization of water and health problems and their relationship with infectious diseases and common solutions. The results of this research are discussed from an ecosystem approach to human health, which recognizes the complexity of conflicts related to water resources and their impact on population health. Through the methodology used, this study allowed to know and visualize the quality of life and health in these important sectors in the dynamics of the province and because not the country, in order to postulate some solutions through an agenda shared with the social actors.
